Monte Allwein swam for Palo Duro 
in Amarillo. Monte married Jan Gilvin 
(another former alumni). Monte and Jan 
have 2 children. Their names are August 
(Augie), and Michelle.

Monte graduated from Texas Tech in Lubbock.

Monte teaches Biology and is a swim 
coach. 

Monte and Jan are planning a return back to 
Amarillo this Spring 2004 to apply for 
teaching positions with AISD.  They now live 
in Copperas Cove, Texas, which is about 
eleven miles West of Killeen (Fort Hood, 
Texas - the largest Military Instillation 
in the World!).  Killeen is about 80 miles 
North of Austin.
